England Player Ratings Vs Norway

England made it through to the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup after they defeated Erling Haaland’s Norway by a score of 2-1. It was never easy for the Three Lions, but they managed to grind out a fantastic result at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Thomas Tuchel’s team struggled on a number of occasions throughout the game as they laboured to break down their opponents, but nevertheless came from behind to progress.

There weren’t many standout performer for England – apart from one in particular, who we’re sure you can figure out without us having to tell you.

GK: Jordan Pickford – 6

A steady game for Jordan Pickford. There was nothing he could’ve done to prevent Andreas Schjelderlup’s freak goal – outside of this, his distribution was typically excellent.

RB: Ezri Konsa – 6

Playing out of position at right-back, Ezri Konsa had a steady outing. While solid defensively, the Aston Villa man contributed little in the final third.

CB: John Stones – 7

A solid defensive display from John Stones, he dealt with Norway’s counter-attacking threat well with his typically-excellent positioning.

CB: Marc Guehi – 6

Manchester City’s Marc Guehi wasn’t quite as strong at the back as Stones was, often being bullied in the air by Haaland and Alexander Sorloth, but did little wrong outside of this.

LB: Nico O’Reilly – 6

It’s safe to say that Nico O’Reilly won the battle between he and Sorloth. Perhaps the best performance of his World Cup campaign thus far.

CM: Declan Rice – 4

We all knew Declan Rice wasn’t fully fit going into the Norway game – sadly, it showed. The Arsenal star struggled to meet the pace of the game and was brought off at half-time.

CM: Elliot Anderson – 6

Elliot Anderson completed more passes than any other England player on the pitch with a total of 86 – he was also their only midfielder who played the full 120 minutes.

RW: Anthony Gordon – 7

Anthony Gordon’s resurgence at this World Cup has taken everyone by surprise. He played an excellent ball through to Jude Bellingham to score England’s equaliser.

AM: Jude Bellingham – 9

England’s best player at the 2026 World Cup by an absolute country mile. Jude Bellingham was on hand to get the Three Lions out of jail once again, netting a magnificent brace to send them into the semis.

LW: Noni Madueke – 4

Noni Madueke wasn’t at his best for England on Saturday evening, failing to make much of an impression – he completed a meagre 16 passes before being subbed off at half time.

ST: Harry Kane – 4

Is Harry Kane beginning to show signs of fatigue? He was practically anonymous against Norway – he will need to be far more lively against Argentina.

SUB 1: Eberechi Eze – 7

Eberechi Eze was a brilliant creative outlet when he came on – his inclusion in the England squad was widely panned, but he silenced all of his critics on Saturday evening,.

SUB 2: Bukayo Saka – 5

Bukayo Saka was a little better than Noni Madueke, but sadly, not by much. All in all, he was unable to create anything meaningful.

SUB 3: Reece James – 5

Tuchel is trudging on in his ill-fated quest to make Reece James in central midfield a thing – with players such as Kobbie Mainoo on the bench, it will never make sense to us.

SUB 4: Djed Spence – 7

Another brilliant display from Djed Spence at the World Cup. This one was short but sweet – his work rate and ability in the final third were top-notch once again.

SUB 5: Morgan Rogers – 6

Brought on just before extra time to give England an extra attacking outlet, Rogers didn’t do an awful lot in the 30 minutes he was afforded.

SUB 6: Dan Burn – N/A

Immediately came on and made some brilliant blocks and won towering headers, but Dan Burn simply wasn’t on the pitch for long enough for us to give him an official grade.
