England might have pulled off a stunning 3-0 win against Senegal on Sunday, but Raheem Sterling was not part of the winning effort or any postgame festivities.
Instead, the Premier Leaguer was on a flight back to London to check on his family after learning that there was a burglary at his home.

"The occupants of the property came home and discovered a number of items, including jewelry and watches, had been stolen," Surrey police said in a statement, via CBS Sports. "Enquiries to establish the circumstances are under way and the investigation is ongoing. No threat of violence was involved as the items were discovered stolen retrospectively."
There is no word yet as to whether Sterling will return to Qatar for England's quarterfinal match against France, although it hasn't been ruled out.
Sterling fully committed to England's World Cup bid and will return to Qatar as long as he can.

Sterling is the second English player to leave the World Cup team. Defender Ben White left the team on November 30 for "personal reasons" and has not returned.
