Dusan Vlahovic is off to a tremendous start, but, even if he shines for the entire season, Juventus are highly unlikely to change their mind and keep him, as his wages are unsustainable for them, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Serb has been unaffected by being in the final year of his contract. Igor Tudor has always backed him, and he has a strong bond with the whole group. The coach will continue to rotate his strikers. The one who scores the most will get more opportunities. The former Fiorentina star has hit the net once every 35 minutes so far.
Vlahovic was never too keen about leaving Juventus in the summer, even though the brass surely tried. Despite his permanence, the Bianconeri signed two other high-profile options in the same role, Jonathan David and Lois Openda. He earns twice as much as the former and triple what the Belgian newcomer makes.
As for the future, he’s likely headed abroad. He’ll ask for at least €8M per year, which could be too much for Milan and Inter. Napoli have already signed their men for the future. Atletico Madrid have kept tabs on him in recent years, and they’ll be in the mix. Manchester United, Barcelona, and Chelsea could emerge as possible landing spots eventually. Two of his suitors, Arsenal and Newcastle United, spent big for Viktor Gyokeres and Nick Woltemade.
His renaissance is stunning, but it’s nearly impossible that the Old Lady will pivot and even try to come to terms. He has the chance to turn it into a regret, which would be quite the surprise considering the last couple of seasons.
