A goal for Enzo Fernandez has put him ahead of some top players in the club’s history for Premier League efforts.
There is some debate about Chelsea’s equalising goal against Liverpool.
Enzo Fernandez whipped a free kick low across the box from a wide position and Wesley Fofana lunged at it, freezing the goalkeeper in place.
In the end, it didn’t look like the defender got a touch, and the ball bounced in off the far post after going past everyone. Fofana’s celebration, pointing at Enzo, seemed to clear up that it was a goal for the Argentine. However TNT Sport eventually produced an angle which seemed to show a clear touch from the Frenchman.
Either way, it’s Enzo’s goal for now, and if it stays that way it puts the midfielder ahead of Michael Ballack, Michael Essien and Olivier Giroud on Premier League goals. He’s now level with Juan Mata on 18.
Say what you like about Enzo as a person and a player – he certainly has an eye for goal. We wonder what number he will end up on when he leaves Stamford Bridge?
The equaliser came from Enzo Fernandez – or Wesley Fofana – depending on who you believe. It came in a period where Chelsea were really strong.
Chelsea were behind from early in this one after Filip Jorgensen made a poor effort to stop Ryan Gravenberch’s shot.
