Erik ten Hag banned three newspapers from asking questions at his Friday press conference.

According to the Daily Mail, the Manchester United manager would not take any questions from three media outlets ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Burnley at Old Trafford.

The three newspapers include The Sun, Manchester Evening News and The Mirror.

Ten Hag is under mounting pressure to keep his job at Old Trafford. It will be up to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS posse to weigh up whether to sack the United manager after a disappointing campaign.

However, Ten Hag’s only saving grace this season would be winning the FA Cup after United reached the final after edging past Championship outfit Coventry City on penalties.

United threw away a three-goal lead in the first half, which the media made a huge deal about in the aftermath of the game. Ten Hag told reporters days later that their coverage to the semi-final win was ‘embarrassing’.

It was then decided that some reporters would be banned from asking questions at this afternoon’s press conference. One of them was Samuel Luckhurst from the Manchester Evening News, who called for Ten Hag to get sacked during extra-time at Wembley on Sunday: ‘Ten Hag cannot survive this. He has to go ASAP. #mufc”
