The league phase of the 2025/26 Europa League is almost complete. With just two games to go before the playoffs and the knockout rounds begin, who made it into our team of the week for gameweek six?

It was a night to forget for Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen – meanwhile, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa both recorded crucial wins. But who were the top indivdual performers?

GK: Florian Wiegele

Viktoria Plzen goalkeeper Florian Wiegele had an almighty job on his hands when his team were reduced to ten men against Panathinaikos, but he managed to thrive under the pressure.

Wiegele made four saves to preserve Plzen’s clean sheet as the game petered out to a 0-0 draw – Rafa Benitez’s men remained frustrated.

RB: Victor Gomez

Victor Gomez was instrumental in Sporting Braga’s win over bottom club OGC Nice, as the Portuguese outfit picked up a win that saw them move into the top eight.

Not only did Gomez help his team keep a clean sheet amid their 1-0 win, he also found the assist for the only goal of the game.

CB: Jayden Oosterwolde

Fenerbahce were rampant when they took on Norweigian outfit Brann, demolishing their opponents by a score of 4-0 away from home.

Jayden Oosterwolde helped to maintain a clean sheet and also registered an assist – it was a very strong display from the 24-year-old.

CB: Ousmane Diao

Starlet Ousmane Diao is enjoying a breakout season at Danish club FC Midtjylland – at just 21 years of age, he has massive potential.

His talents were on full display against Genk, as he put in a battling performance to help his team keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 win.

LB: Maximilian Mittelstädt

Stuttgart star Maximilian Mittelstadt put forth a wonderful performance against Maccabi Tel Aviv, as he scored a penalty and notched up an assist en route a dominant 4-1 win.

Germany aren’t exactly spoiled for choice at left-back at the moment – could Mittelstadt be a late inclusion to their World Cup squad?

RM: Federico Bernardeschi

Federico Bernardeschi has seen it all – at 31 years of age, he is a veteran of the game, but his display against Celta Vigo might have been one of the best of his illustrious career.

The battle-hardened Italian scored a penalty, then scored again to give Bologna a come-from-behind win over the Spaniards.

CM: Luciano Valente

Feyenoord may have fallen to defeat against FCSB, but Luciano Valente still put forth his best effort in spite of the result.

He notched up two assists from the heart of midfield, both of which came within three minutes of each other.

CM: Bence Otvos

Robbie Keane’s Ferencvaros condemned Rangers to a new low on Thursday night, as they overturned a 1-0 deficit to defeat the ‘Gers by a score of 2-1.

Bence Otvos scored a crucial goal just before half time to bring the game level, as he put in an excellent display from central midfield.

LM: Talisca

Talisca was the star of the show this week – Brann were powerless to stop him as he ran rampant over their backline.

He scored a hattrick against the Norweigians, banging in two first half goals and one in the second half as Fenerbahce recorded a 4-0 victory.

ST: Samu Aghehowa

Porto maintained their position in the top eight with a win over Swedish outfit Malmo FF on Thursday evening – they have Samu Aghehowa to thank for netting them all three points.

He scored both of Porto’s goals against Malmo – despite a late fightback, the Portuguese giants walked away with a 2-1 win.

ST: Evan Ferguson

Evan Ferguson, on loan from Brighton, terrorised Celtic for Roma on Thursday evening. He scored twice against the hapless Hoops, as he breached their defence time and time again.

Celtic simply could not handle him – could this be the catalyst he needs to get his career up and running again?
