Midfielder Evander scored twice and assisted on another goal as FC Cincinnati earned a 3-1 road win over CF Montreal on Wednesday.

Evander, who earned his second straight All-Star nod in his first season with Cincinnati, raised his total to nine goals in MLS regular-season competition this year.

He added his seventh assist for Cincinnati (11-5-3, 36 points) as forward Luca Orellano netted his first goal of the regular season.

Coming off their first clean sheet and win since May 14, a 1-0 decision against the New England Revolution on Saturday, FC Cincinnati took another step forward on defense against CF Montreal.

Cincinnati goalkeeper Roman Celentano saved three shots Wednesday night, allowing only a 90th-minute goal by Montreal forward Prince Owusu. Celentano was backed by a stingy Cincinnati defense, led by newly named All-Star defender Miles Robinson.

Despite coming off a 3-1 win at Houston on Saturday, a frustrating season continued for CF Montreal (2-12-5, 11 points) on Wednesday. They remain the only MLS club yet to win a home regular-season match in 2025, as they fell to 0-5-3 in Montreal.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois was under duress all night, allowing the three goals while making eight saves.

FC Cincinnati broke a scoreless draw when Evander posted his first goal of the night in the 45th minute. DeAndre Yedlin fired a cross from the right side that Evander knocked down while entering the top of the box before firing a left-footed shot under Sirois.

Orellano played a nice 1-2 combination with Evander in the penalty area in the 65th minute. Evander made it 3-0 in the 83rd minute by tapping in a cross from Lukas Engel.

Cincinnati maintained its standing as the second-place team in the Eastern Conference ahead of a Saturday matchup against Orlando City.

Montreal, stuck in last place in the Eastern Conference, will host New York City FC on Saturday.
