Everton are considering their options for the January window but have already decided against one opportunity.

The January transfer window has only just opened, but clubs across Europe are already starting to make moves.

David Moyes is looking to add more attacking options, with his strikers having struggled for goals during the first half of the season.

Despite that, the Toffees have already declined the chance to sign one specific player this month.

Everton decide against January signing after agent contact

Everton have received good news on Iliman Ndiaye’s fitness after his injury scare at the Africa Cup of Nations.

While he is on international duty, Tyler Dibling has been given a chance to step in on the right wing while the Senegal international is away in Morocco.

According to TeamTalk, representatives of Tottenham’s Manor Solomon reached out to Everton before his loan move to Fiorentina was finalised.

It is reported that along with Everton, his camp also approached Leeds United, Sunderland and West Ham.

With little interest from other clubs, Spurs eventually agreed a loan deal with Fiorentina that included an option to buy.

Moyes has made it clear that Everton will only bring in players who fit their needs this January, with backing once again expected from the Friedkins.

The club are now taking a more cautious approach in order to avoid unnecessary spending and stay within budget.

Fair play to Everton for passing up this chance. The lack of interest from other English clubs speaks volumes about the current situation.

After returning to Spurs last summer, Solomon went out on loan to Villarreal but struggled to get much playing time in La Liga.

Moyes has been pleased with what he has seen from Dibling lately, especially with Ndiaye away on international duty. But there is still a real need for added quality up front before the window shuts.

Everton are going about it the right way, not rushing into deals. Angus Kinnear and his team seem to have things under control, keeping the club moving in the right direction.
