Everybody is questioning Erik ten Hag after he claimed that Arsenal didn’t have any clear chances against his side on Sunday.

The Gunners cemented their status as league leaders and real title contenders after beating Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday evening.

This was arguably Arsenal’s toughest fixture so far this season, the Red Devils have been in incredible form since returning from the World Cup and looked like they could mount their own title charge.

It was a tough contest but although Arsenal had to score a late winner they were in control and streets better for the majority of the game.

But Ten Hag had a different view over the game state and believed that they defended well and limited the Gunners opportunities.

“I think a lot of games we did very well (defensively), we had a lot of clean sheets. Against Manchester City we defended very well. In general, against Arsenal we defended very well.” he told the press.

“I don’t think they get clean shots, there was one time from a free-kick. The rest were shots from cutbacks, shots from distance, defenders from us in between the ball and the goal.”

This has puzzled a lot of people because Arsenal had 20 shots inside the Manchester United penalty area and set the record for most touches in an opponent’s box this season.
