AC Milan and Inter must finalize the San Siro purchase by November 10, with the clubs aiming to close the deal by the end of October.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Serie A giants will, for now, focus on securing bank approvals and finishing the paperwork.
Meanwhile, meeting the deadline is of paramount importance.
Indeed, the Superintendency’s restriction on the second tier will take effect after November 10.
That will prevent demolition if the stadium remains publicly owned.
Moreover, the design of the new San Siro will begin immediately afterward, with Norman Foster leading the project.
With work on the new stadium scheduled to begin in early 2027, the clubs expect to get it done by 2030.
Meanwhile, Milan and Inter will continue to play at the current stadium until then.
Unfortunately, this ambitious project requires a partial demolition of San Siro.
However, it will begin within the first 12 months after the new venue opens.
According to the clubs’ plans, only the southeast corner of the stadium will remain, including a tower.
