Former José Mourinho assistant Salvatore Foti hints that Serie A misses the Portuguese coach: ‘We all remember what he achieved with Inter and Roma.’
Ex-Mourinho assistant Foti suggests Serie A misses a coach like Mourinho.
“I think Italy has lost more without him because he’s a character who gets people talking regardless of the results. He always won when he was in Italy. We all remember what he achieved at Inter and Roma,” Foti told Sportitalia via TMW.
“People talk about the Conference League as if it doesn’t matter much. Fiorentina would gladly sign up to win it.”
Foti was Mourinho’s assistant coach at Roma. During his two and a half years spell at the Stadio Olimpico, Mou won the Conference League and reached the Europa League Final.
“Feyenoord, Marseille and Feyenoord were in the [Conference League] semifinals with us, and if you look at the players in those teams, many of those now play for top European clubs,” Foti concluded.
“I think Roma fans are happy with what we achieved in two and a half years with Mourinho, even if we lost that final, which is still the biggest regret of my career so far.”
