Ex Atalanta Midfielder’s Taunt At The Heart Of Mini-Brawl As Tempers Erupt In Bologna 1-0 Inter Milan Serie A Clash

A taunt by Remo Freuler on Marko Arnautovic was the spark for a mini-brawl at the end of yesterday’s match between Bologna and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

Yesterday’s match at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara certainly had a dramatic ending.

Bologna and Inter Milan had not necessarily produced fireworks on the pitch for the ninety minutes. It was a match low on quality and chances.

However, Bologna produced a late onslaught on the Inter penalty area.

And they got their reward, in the form of a spectacular stoppage time winner by Riccardo Orsolini.

And after Orsolini’s goal, things boiled over between the two sets of players.

Naturally, there were rapturous celebrations from the Bologna squad.

But at the same time, a mini-brawl also kicked off.

And according to the Gazzetta, the reason for this was something that Bologna midfielder Remo Freuler said to Inter Milan substitute Marko Arnautovic.

Therefore, the 33-year-old former Atalanta and Nottingham Forest midfielder appeared to whisper something in the ear of Arnautovic.

Meanwhile, clearly, the Nerazzurri striker did not appreciate this. And this kicked off a fracas between the two teams.
