Antoine Griezmann will start for Atletico Madrid against Inter Milan this evening, whilst Nahuel Molina is favourite on the right flank.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who anticipate the Colchoneros lineup for the Champions League round of sixteen second leg.

There are a couple of outstanding questions about who starts for Atletico that have been in the air ahead of this evening’s match.

Naturally, Atletico coach Diego Simeone will want his strongest team on the pitch. This is the same as his Inter counterpart SImone Inzaghi.

But that has still left the Colchoneros boss with a couple decisions to make.

According to the Gazzetta, though, Simeone knows exactly what the team is going to look like.

Griezmann To Start For Atletico Madrid Vs Inter – Molina On The Right

The big news is that Antoine Griezmann will start in attack.

Simeone confirmed as much yesterday evening.

It was always perfectly clear that the Frenchman would start if he is able to. He remains arguably Atletico’s single most important player.

But Griezmann’s fitness was a doubt after he picked up an ankle sprain in the first leg against Inter last month.

But the 32-year-old former Barcelona and Real Sociedad man will start this evening. Even if it means playing through some pain.

Meanwhile, at right-wingback, there have seemingly been two possibilities for Simeone.

One would be to have Marcos Llorente start on the flank.

The 29-year-old former Real Madrid man is extremely versatile. He started as a striker in the first leg against Inter, for example.

And Llorente can frequently play on the right, as a fairly defensive option.

But the Gazzetta report that the Spanish international will start in midfield. That means that Saul Niguez will drop out of the lineup, with Koke and Rodrigo De Paul forming the rest of the trio.

Argentine former Udinese wingback Nahuel Molina will therefore keep his place on the right.
