Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino could be in line for another lucrative managerial position after mutually parting ways with Chelsea this week.

The Argentine boss hasn’t had the success he likely would have hoped in his last two coaching stints at PSG and Chelsea. Pochettino lasted about a year and a half in the French capital while it was one season and done at Stamford Bridge.

So, what’s next for the 52-year-old? He could be taking a break from coaching club football and be ready to take over a high-profile national team duty job.

According to the Telegraph, if Gareth Southgate steps down from his managerial position after UEFA Euro 2024, England might consider bringing in Mauricio Pochettino as his replacement.

Pochettino knows the country, having coached at Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea. Moreover, coaching PSG should’ve prepared him for the massive egos of top-level players.

It will be interesting to see if the former player does land on his feet again with a prominent job. After his tenure at Tottenham ended, PSG came calling to offer him the manager job while Chelsea pursued him once his time in Paris was over.

Now that his short stint with the Blues is over, it seems that he could be the next coach of the Three Lions.
