Massimo Moratti believes Simone Inzaghi will resist the temptation of joining Al-Hilal in favor of a long-term career at Inter Milan.

Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the former Nerazzurri president offered his view on the situation.

Al-Hilal’s €60 million contract proposal has cast doubt on the 49-year-old’s future at San Siro.

Indeed, Simone Inzaghi now has a choice to make.

Despite his outstanding work at Inter and the board’s complete trust, the economic aspect could deter him from staying.

However, he will not discuss a new deal with the Nerazzurri before the Champions League final.

Therefore, there’s a veil of mystery surrounding his immediate future.

Meanwhile, Beppe Marotta hopes to convince the ex-Lazio coach to pledge his loyalty to the 20-time Serie A champions.

Substantial pay rise and hefty summer investments are part of Marotta’s bid to secure Inzaghi’s commitment.

Massimo Moratti Thinks Simone Inzaghi Will Stay at Inter Milan Amid Al-Hilal Rumors

Moratti compared Inzaghi’s current situation with Jose Mourinho’s heartbreaking exit in 2010.

However, he believes there’s one crucial difference.

“I had the ‘trick’ with Mourinho back then,” he stated. “Though calling it a trick… we knew he was going to leave.

“But everyone stayed quiet. He didn’t say anything, and neither did we because we were focused on winning.

“Then, what happened, happened. I think it’s the same kind of situation with Inzaghi, although I believe and hope he stays at Inter.”

Then, he discussed Helenio Herrera’s historic success at San Siro.

“The second European Cup is what turned Inter from a strong team into the ‘Grande Inter.’

“It was the confirmation of a truly great side. I was lucky enough to experience that same joy 15 years ago – a wonderful day of celebration.

“I wish Inter, our team, the same joy in a few days’ time.”

Finally, he shared his expectations for Saturday’s showpiece in Munich.

“It depends on how Inter plays,” he insisted. “If they’re in form and play the way they know, it will be difficult even for PSG.

“PSG are strong in defense, midfield, and attack.”
