Inter Milan have been training hard today ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash against Sassuolo, with Matteo Darmian back training with the group whilst Lautaro Martinez continues to recover separately.

According to what has been reported by Sky Sport, Darmian has recovered full from his injury.

Meanwhile, the situation surrounding Lautaro Martinez is less clear.

The Argentine forward returned from international duty with some discomfort and fatigue.

Chivu left Lautaro out of his squad to face Ajax, after playing just 45 minutes against Juventus in the Derby d’Italia.

As Darmian Returns, Lack Of Lautaro Could Put Chivu Faith In Pio Esposito

Martinez is reportedly suffering from slight back pain and fatigue.

Sky report that the Argentine will undergo evaluation in the coming day.

The staff will decide tomorrow on his availability.

If he completes a full session on Saturday, it is likely he will have the green light to start.

However, in case of his absence, head coach Cristian Chivu is ready to turn again to Francesco Pio Esposito.

The young forward put in a good display in his Champions League debut during the week.

Now, Chivu may give the youngster another chance to partner Marcus Thuram up top.

Hopefully, it can yield more positive results.
