Pierpaolo Marino feels that Beppe Marotta just needs to keep on the same course Inter Milan have already been under Oaktree Capital’s ownership.

The former Napoli and Atalanta CEO spoke to Italian broadcaster Radio 24, via FCInterNews. He gave a confident assessment of the Nerazzurri’s prospects under the new owners.

Veteran executive Marotta will stay in his role as Inter CEO under new ownership Oaktree.

The 67-year-old has been in his current post for more than five years. He joined the Nerazzurri in 2018.

And Marotta has been the architect of the club’s transfer strategy during that time.

It was Suning who appointed Marotta. And the former Juventus and Sampdoria executive has gone on to define an era in the Nerazzurri’s history under the Chinese company’s ownership.

During Marotta’s time at the club, Inter have dealt with some major financial issues.

However, these have never proven to be an impediment for the 67-year-old.

The Nerazzurri have enjoyed success and won trophies, even while staying within tight financial restrictions.

Marino: “Marotta Just Has To Maintain Same Parameters At Inter Under Oaktree”

Oaktree’s takeover of Inter is not likely to signal a major change in the financial situation at the club.

The US-based fund may have a more stable situation in and of themselves than previous Nerazzurri owners Suning.

However, it is not as though Oaktree are just going to be pumping money into the club.

Therefore, there will still undoubtedly be difficulties for Inter’s senior management, with Marotta a central figure. And there may even be added uncertainty.

“In recent years Marotta has operated with a view towards the economic stability of the club,” said outgoing Udinese director Marino.

“And I believe that this season he just has to maintain the same parameters that he had already been doing with Oaktree in charge,” the veteran executive added.
