Ex-Real Madrid keeper Casilla: Kroos retirement no surprise

Kiko Casilla has paid tribute to former Real Madrid teammate Toni Kroos.

Kroos announced yesterday that he will retire after the Euros with Germany.

Former Real goalkeeper Casilla told Radio Marca: "He has been a very consistent player, and it is very difficult to see him miss a pass in a game.

"It is difficult to find a fault with Toni Kroos in his game, in addition to the fact that in these years he has improved the defensive aspect in favor of his game.

"He has always said that he wanted to retire young. He was clear that his last destination was Real Madrid. He has gone with his mentality and his ideas. At the level he is at, he has also won another Champions League with Madrid."
