Manchester United are one of several Premier League clubs that have laid eyes on Brighton’s impressive young winger Yankuba Minteh.

The Red Devils have already launched a major revamp plan as they look to present Ruben Amorim with a more competent squad, capable of interpreting his style of football.

Matheus Cunha’s transfer will be made official in the coming days, so the Brazilian attacker will become the club’s first summer signing.

But as recently revealed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, United still desire another addition who can fill in one of the two No.10 roles.

Man United want Yankuba Minteh

In recent days, Bryan Mbeumo and Rayan Cherki emerged as some of the candidates for this particular role.

But according to sources close to Stretty News, United are also keeping tabs on Minteh, yet another exciting winger who tormented Amorim’s team this season.

The 20-year-old scored a goal and provided an assist in Brighton’s 3-1 victory at Old Trafford in January. He ended the campaign with six goals and four assists in his 32 Premier League appearances.

In his first EPL season, the Gambian youngster stood out for his speed and explosiveness on the wing, as well as his final touch.

Nevertheless, our sources reveal that Man Utd isn’t the only Premier League club on the winger’s trail, as the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have also taken note.

Why Minteh would be right for Man Utd

Minteh was poached by Danish club Odense at a young age, before being sold to Newcastle in the summer of 2023 for just €8 million.

The Magpies sent him on loan to Feyenoord last season, before making a large profit by selling him to Brighton for £30 million last summer.

As a left-footed player, Minteh mostly plays as an inverted right winger, but he can also play in a deeper role, and has also featured on the left flank on several occasions.

Hence, he could be quite a solution for Amorim, as he’s capable of covering either one of the two No.10 roles or the two wingback slots.
