With Manchester United having secured UEFA Champions League football for next season, the upcoming summer transfer window is set to be an important one.

Midfield is the obvious priority.

Casemiro, arguably one of United’s best players this season, is leaving at the end of his contract and there are also reports that Manuel Ugarte is going to be sold as well.

The likes of Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, Ederson and Mateus Fernandes are some of the names linked with moves to Old Trafford to bolster a midfield that is going to need numbers if they’re going to be able to keep up with more games next season.

But that’s not the only area that may need reinforcements brought in.

A left-sided attacker has also been mentioned to provide competition and cover for Matheus Cunha.

There is now another position that United are looking into, with one Brazilian striker having been scouted by the club for that position.

CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that Shakhtar Donetsk striker Kaua Elias has been scouted by Manchester United.

The Brazilian, who joined Shakhtar last season, is seen by many as a future wonderkid as he’s shone for the national team at youth level.

Due to that, many English Premier League clubs have been looking at the striker and United are one of them.

While there is no indication that an imminent move is on the horizon, things could change if Joshua Zirkzee leaves Manchester United in the summer.

Elias is one of a few options that the club have looked at in that position.

For now, that striker position is firmly in the hands of Benjamin Sesko.

However, Michael Carrick will likely want greater depth in attack if Manchester United are to compete across multiple competitions next season.

Kaua Elias is viewed as one of the brightest young forwards in South American football.

United’s interest shows the club are continuing to monitor emerging talent outside Europe’s top leagues.

A move for a talented but largely unproven player at senior level might be a risk for Manchester United next season.

So while the club have scouted him, CentreDevils are not aware of any imminent move or desire to act on that.

Still, with the summer window approaching, it would not be a surprise if more striker links begin to emerge around Old Trafford in the coming weeks.
