Exclusive: Joshua Zirkzee close to Manchester United comeback

Joshua Zirkzee is one forward that could be used by caretaker manager Michael Carrick when he returns from his injury.

The striker, who joined Manchester United in 2024, has made 16 appearances for the club so far this season with two goals and an assist coming in these matches.

Meanwhile, in his last four games, he has provided a goal and assist which aided the Red Devils in picking up crucial points in matches.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old has created eight chances and had three successful dribbles, helping United in attacking situations and when pushing the team further up the field.

However, since his appearance against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup, Zirkzee has been injured, therefore preventing him from playing for the club.

Earlier this month, Zirkzee revealed that he would be sidelined for two weeks although he did not reveal whether it would affect a potential move away from Old Trafford.

Now, CentreDevils can exclusively reveal details about Zirkzee’s condition.

We understand that Joshua Zirkzee is nearing a return from his injury and has been training on the grass this week.

However, it is not clear whether he will be fit enough to make the matchday squad for the game against Fulham tomorrow at Old Trafford, which kicks off at 2pm.

But, if he does not make his return tomorrow, CentreDevils understands that his return will not take long.

Zirkzee’s influence in the remaining games of the Premier League campaign could be important, if he does not secure a move away from Manchester United in the closing stages of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, with options such as Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Amad, United’s attacking threat can not be understated and would only become stronger through the return of Zirkzee.
