Inter approached Lazio for Nicolò Rovella, offering €35m plus Kristjan Asllani, but the Biancocelesti won’t sell the Italian midfielder unless his €50m release clause is met.
Inter have sounded out Rovella’s availability, telling Lazio that they’re open to offering €35m plus Albania international Asllani, who would move to the Olimpico on loan with an obligation to buy tied to certain conditions.
It remains unclear whether the Nerazzurri have targeted Rovella as they prepare for a possible offer for Hakan Calhanoglu, who has attracted interest from Galatasaray.
Anyway, Lazio turned down Inter’s approaches, saying that if they want Rovella, they must match his €50m clause.
The Biancocelesti are facing a challenging transfer situation, as COVISOC could block their summer transfer operations for financial reasons.
Their coach, Maurizio Sarri, will discuss the matter after the weekend.
In the meantime, Inter have qualified for the Club World Cup Round of 16, where they’ll meet Brazilian side Fluminense.
