Exclusive: Manchester United complete double signing for January

Manchester United have undergone immense changes under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS, both in the business and football aspects.

Hundreds of staff have been made redundant or have left, with many departments being made dramatically shorter.

INEOS claim it is for the betterment of the club, and it will allow them to spend more money when it comes to investing in the squads.

The men’s first team saw four signings enter the club this summer through Benjamin Sesko, Senne Lammens, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha.

The women’s side saw Julia Zigiotti Olme, Fridolina Rolfo, and Jess Park make a sensational move from Manchester City.

Marc Skinner’s side sit fourth currently in the Women’s Super League, and reinforcement is clearly needed.

Now, we can reveal two signings which have been completed.

CentreDevils understands that Manchester United Women have completed the signings of Hanna Lundkvist and Lea Schuller.

We can reveal that Lundkvist was at Carrington today, and she is signing from the American side, San Diego Wave, on a free transfer.

The Swedish right-back is also expected to sign her contract very soon alongside completing her media duties.

The 23-year-old Swede has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, but it seems the Red Devils have secured her services.

Lea Schuller is expected to have her medical too imminently, with a deal with Bayern Munich being agreed, with her contract ending this summer.

With 103 goals in 179 appearances and eight goal contributions in her last five league games, she has made an impression while in Germany.

Mark Skinner stated earlier this week, “We are already hopefully close to a couple of players, which I think will be exciting.

We need to be creative within the parameters, but what I’d say is we need to add to the group.

“I must stress that it is not because of the quality of my players; it’s just the depth to be able to continue the experience, especially with the level of competition.

“We’ve got Champions League, a tough game against Spurs, Champions League again and then a quarter-final.

“The level of competition is there.”
