Adrien Rabiot wants to return to Juventus and held talks with Giorgio Chiellini after the ugly split with Olympique Marseille, but Matt O’Riley of Brighton remains the favourite.

Football Italia can exclusively confirm that the France international called his old teammate Chiellini, now a director with the Bianconeri, and offered his services to them.

The Serie A side took this under advisement, but meanwhile director of sport Damien Comolli is working on Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder O’Riley as the ideal replacement once Douglas Luiz completes the transfer to Nottingham Forest.

Juventus was home for Rabiot

Rabiot spent five years in Turin and amassed 212 competitive appearances for the Old Lady, scoring 22 goals and providing 16 assists.

He left as a free agent in 2024 when his contract was allowed to run down, but his experience at Olympique Marseille has already turned sour.

He was officially put on the market this week following a brawl with teammate Jonathan Rowe, which it seems turned violent with punches thrown in the locker room.

Rabiot is still only 30 years of age and far from a finished player, as seen by his performances for Marseille last season.
