Chelsea are ready to make a £20m offer to sign a current England goalkeeper in the summer, according to an exclusive report that came out last night.

We are seeing all sorts of reports going around right now, most of it is obviously all to do with Chelsea’s new manager search as we await to see what is going to happen with that. But regardless of this, Chelsea are clearly still pressing ahead with any summer transfer plans and will soon be making moves to sign more new players over the coming window. All focus will soon be on that as they still search for a new manager.

Could a new goalkeeper be on the Chelsea agenda in the next two months? Well, according to an exclusive report from The Sun, they are very much on the hunt for a new number one goalkeeper.

They claim that Chelsea are ready to make a £20million bid for Burnley goalkeeper and England hopeful James Trafford.

Chelsea apparently see Trafford as a new long-term No 1 stopper.

Trafford has been called up for Gareth Southgate’s initial 33-man England squad for Euro 2024 and will be hoping to be heading out with the squad this summer.

Is Trafford good enough for Chelsea?

The 21-year-year old joined Burnley from Manchester City for £15m last summer after impressing for the England U21s, but his season in the Premier League didn’t go to plan really, being dropped from Vincent Kompany’s first team lineup whilst the club battled against relegation but of course, ended up being relegated.

He has certainly been a highly rated player coming up through the ranks and you feel he has a lot about him. Making a step up to Chelsea would be a huge move though and a bit of a risk on Chelsea’s side for sure.
