Italy have climbed to fifth place in the UEFA Coefficient Ranking, which gives two extra Champions League places at the end of the season.

Italy have climbed the UEFA Coefficient Ranking after the latest round of European matches played between Tuesday and Thursday.

Serie A clubs’ results in Europe this week

Italian clubs collected three wins with Inter and Atalanta in the Champions League and Roma in the Europa League.

Juventus, Napoli (Champions League) and Bologna (Europa League) were held to home draws by Sporting CP, Eintracht Frankfurt and Brann, respectively, while Fiorentina lost 2-1 away at Mainz in the Conference League.

Italy sat 8th in the standings two weeks ago, but they have earned three positions, moving into fifth place.

The gap from the second spot has also slightly decreased, going from 743 points to 715.

England and Germany are the top two countries in the standings with 9.722 and 8.857 points, respectively.

The first two countries at the end of the season will get an extra Champions League spot for the 2026-27 campaign.
