Manchester United will be hoping to have a new manager bounce against Manchester City tomorrow lunchtime.

Michael Carrick was announced as the United interim manager following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim as head coach.

The former United midfielder, who won five Premier League titles and a Champions League during his time with the Red Devils, will hold the role until the end of the season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who held a similar role back in 2019, excelled as caretaker and managed to earn a permanent contract.

Carrick will want to boost the morale around the club, and has the chance to guide the team back to Europe with 40 games in total this season.

The United youth setup will also hope for a strong end to the season.

The FA have confirmed the fifth round draw for the FA Youth Cup.

This is despite the fourth round having yet to be played.

United will take on Derby County in the fourth round on January 23rd and the winners of this game will face either Oxford United or Colchester United away from home.

Other stand out fifth round fixtures have seen Chelsea drawn against Manchester City or Arsenal.

This is as well as a potential clash between Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers provided that they both win their fourth round games.

The fifth round fixtures are set to be played by Saturday 21st February 2026.

Manchester United have won 11 FA Youth Cups in their history, with their most recent success coming in the 2021/22 season as they beat Nottingham Forest 3-1.

They will want to improve on their last result if they want to win the FA Youth Cup.

Last time out, they lost 3-1 to Everton at home in the Under-18 Premier League, despite beating Birmingham City 6-0 in the game prior.
