The 2025/26 FA Cup fourth round is almost over – who made it into our prestigious team of the round XI this week?
There weren’t many surprises in the fourth round – outside of Mansfield Town stunning Burnley at Turf Moor, there was little ‘cup magic’ to shout about.
Nevertheless, we saw big wins for Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool – do you agree with our XI picks?
There was only one penalty shoot-out in the FA Cup fourth round this year – Leeds United’s Lucas Perri stepped up to the plate and stole the show after extra time against Birmingham City.
He made a great save to deny Tommy Doyle from the spot – after Patrick Roberts missed his spot-kick, the Whites were into the next round.
Mansfield Town were at it again in the FA Cup – after knocking out Sheffield United in the last round, they had their sights set on a Premier League scalp this time around.
Kyle Knoyle effectively contained Jacob Bruun Larsen and picked out Rhys Oates for the Stags’ equalising goal. For a player who has spent his whole career in the lower tiers of the EFL, this was a Premier League quality display.
Marc Guehi didn’t have the most difficult of tasks ahead of him, as Manchester City took on League Two Salford City, but the England international put his best foot forward nonetheless.
Guehi scored the second goal of the game and kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory – City’s defence was noticeably sturdier upon his introduction.
Norwich City have endured a rough season in the Championship this season, but they managed to put their strong recent form to use in the FA Cup.
Harry Darling couldn’t keep a clean sheet, but he notched up an assist with a brilliantly weighted header back across goal for Paris Maghoma to tap in.
Milos Kerkez has been shellacked with criticism from a range of audiences this season, but his performance against Brighton was practically faultless.
The Hungarian international kept a clean sheet and registered an assist in a 3-0 win over Brighton – this was as good as he has looked since his arrival in Merseyside.
Sandro Tonali needed to stand up and be counted when news broke of Bruno Guimaraes’ injury – thankfully for Newcastle, the Italian international was up to the task.
He put forth an heroic performance to score a brace beyond ten-man Aston Villa, rescuing the Toon from defeat after they fell behind early on.
Oliver Skipp makes it into this XI for one, key reason – that spectacular overhead kick he netted in Leicester City’s tie against Southampton.
Skipp might’ve been on the losing end when Leicester fell to a 2-1 defeat in extra time, but that goal will live long in the memory of those who witnessed it.
Pedro Neto has had a season of mixed results, but he was bang in form when Chelsea took on Hull City in their fourth round tie.
After a couple of gilt-edged chances were spurned early on, Pedro Neto took the game by the horns and scored a hattrick against the Tigers. It was a happy return for Liam Rosenior to his old club – we bet he wishes he had Neto whilst he was in the second tier.
Anis Ben Slimane was brought on as a substitute deep into the second half of Norwich vs West Brom, but he made a bigger impact than anyone else on the pitch.
He racked up a pair of late assists to send the Canaries into the fifth round draw – the Baggies’ torrid 2025/26 continues.
Like Ben Slimane, Eberechi Eze also picked up a couple of assists at the weekend – Arsenal completely overwhelmed League One Wigan Athletic.
By the 27th minute, the score was already 4-0 to the Gunners – Eze’s creative wizardry was far too much for the Ticks to handle.
Rhys Oates cemented his legacy as a Mansfield Town hero on Saturday afternoon. He headed in a crucial equalising goal against Burnley in their fourth round tie – Louis Reed would go on to score the winner.
Mansfield are this season’s surprise package – unless Macclesfield can stun Brentford in their game tonight.
