On the 11th February 2026, Manchester United co-owner Sit JIm Ratcliffe held an interview at the European Industry Summit that rocked The Red Devils as The FA have now got involved.

Discussing the UK economy, Ratcliffe commented: “You can’t have an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in.”

He continued: “I mean, the UK has been colonised. It’s costing too much money. The UK has been colonised by immigrants, really, hasn’t it?”

After a spate of responses from anti-racism charities, anti-discrimination charities, Manchester United Supporters Groups and even the UK Prime Minister, Ratcliffe did release a statement of apology.

However the apology stated he’s “sorry that my choice of language has offended some people”.

Now, Sky Sports has reported that The FA have decided to take action in the matter.

It was already understood that an investigation was taking place to see if the comments breached the governing body’s threshold of throwing the game into disrepute.

Now, it’s reported that The FA have spoken to Sir Jim Ratcliffe, reminding him that he is a custodian of Manchester United and therefore have reminded him of his responsibilities in that role.

The FA have explained that as a member of English football now, he needs to take that into consideration when conducting any interviews.

However, it’s understood that at this time, no further action is to be taken against the INEOS owner.
