Real Madrid are locked in another tough fight for the La Liga title, and with a lot of dysfunction bubbling in the background, they have fallen behind Barcelona again.
Los Blancos have a lot of attacking talent and did vastly upgrade their defense last summer with the signings of Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras, but the midfield is in disarray without Toni Kroos and Luka Modric and there are too many egos who are not held in check by Xabi Alonso, who has his own ego.
Real Madrid are looking for more solutions to help the team, and one of them has already been confirmed as a signing for the summer 2026 transfer window in a few months.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid and academy product Nico Paz, currently starring for Como in Serie A as the best player in the Italian league right now, have reached a full agreement on personal terms.
Real Madrid own a buy back clause for the hidden Ballon d’Or candidate, and although Real have Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono as excellent No. 10 options (Xabi likes Jude Bellingham more as an 8), it looks like Paz is going to be coming in for the 2026/27 season to man the middle of the Madrid attack.
