Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is considering leaving Al Nassr next summer, with Europe and MLS as potential destinations.

Ronaldo, 41, has been at the center of a media storm in recent hours, as multiple reports indicate the Portuguese star is unhappy with how the club's owners manage Al Nassr compared to rivals like Al Hilal or Al Ittihad.

The transfer specialist journalist Romano confirmed the trend and explained that the Real Madrid legend is seriously considering leaving his current club.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is considering Al Nassr in the summer, with a return to Europe or a move to the MLS among the options being discussed," the journalist wrote on his official Facebook account.

"The 40-year-old [now 41 - editor's note] has begun a strike despite being the highest-paid footballer in history, earning around £488,000 per day, as reported by Daily Mail," he added.

Cristiano Ronaldo Likely to Miss Al Nassr's Next Match

Ronaldo missed his team's previous match against Al Riyadh, which they won 1-0, amid this controversy and as a form of protest.

It appears the Portuguese star will also miss Al Nassr's next game, according to ESPN information shared by Fabrizio Romano.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to miss his second consecutive Saudi Pro League match," the journalist began writing.

"He has not received clear assurances from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund regarding changes in Al Nassr's management."

Romano added, "After missing the game vs Al Riyadh, he’s also expected to be absent against Al Ittihad, despite training normally during the week, as reported by ESPN."

Al Nassr's next match is against Al Ittihad on Friday, Feb. 6, at 9:30 a.m. PT, 12:30 p.m. ET.
