Fabrizio Romano names the one player Tottenham are for sure looking to sign this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are poised to make a decisive move in the upcoming transfer window by pursuing their long-standing target.

Spurs have been tracking Chelsea’s star midfielder Conor Gallagher since last summer, and they are reportedly determined to conclude the pursuit by securing his services in North London.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Lilywhites have maintained a keen interest in the English international.

With Gallagher entering the final year of his contract with Chelsea, the upcoming window holds significant importance for his future.

Without any indications of a contract extension, the 24-year-old would be free to negotiate with any interested clubs this summer, potentially opening the door for Tottenham to make a move.

In a conversation with JD Football, Romano disclosed that Gallagher is a prime target for Spurs. The journalist highlighted the Lilywhites’ genuine interest in the player, naming “Conor Gallagher,” when asked to name at least one player that Romano knows for sure Tottenham are interested in.

Mauricio Pochettino viewed the Englishman as an integral member of Chelsea’s squad last season and actively pursued a contract extension for him.

However, with Pochettino’s departure, Gallagher may contemplate a move despite being a regular starter for Chelsea.

The Cobham academy graduate was a consistent presence in the Blues’ lineup, featuring in 37 out of 38 Premier League games last season. Across all competitions, he made 50 appearances, showcasing his prowess with 7 goals and 9 assists. 

Gallagher’s versatility and dynamic playing style make him an attractive option for Ange Postecoglou. His potential addition would fortify Tottenham’s midfield, injecting depth and quality into the squad.
