Fantasy Premier League: FPL Winners & Losers

The Premier League Boxing Day fixtures are now behind us. As we look forward to the new year, how is your FPL team looking at the dawn of 2026?

The latest round of Premier League games brought a boon of points for some, while others blanked – who were this week’s biggest winners and losers in Fantasy Premier League?

Goalkeepers

Burnley’s Martin Dubravka was this week’s star goalkeeper – six saves and three bonus points gave the battle-hardened Slovakian a very healthy total of 11 points.

Manchester United’s Senne Lammens also performed well, picking up nine points for his consummate display against Newcastle United in a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

Djorde Petrovic, however, wasn’t quite so lucky. He scored an own goal for Bournemouth against Brentford – on top of this, he also conceded four goals to give him a total of -1.

Defenders

Only 4.3% of FPL have Patrick Dorgu in their teams, but he showed his worth on Friday evening by scoring an excellent volley and picking up a clean sheet. In total, he took a gargantuan total of 17 points home with him.

Fellow United defender Diogo Dalot scored 13 points for his display, while Tottenham captain Micky van de Ven picked up 11 points for their win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

There were no particular poor performers in terms of defenders this week, but we’ll pick Nico O’Reilly as our biggest loser. He didn’t do anything wrong against Nottingham Forest, but went home with just a single point for his troubles – at £5.3m, it’s fair to expect more than this.

Midfielders

Only one player can be our star of the week – and this week, it is Kevin Schade. The Brentford ace ran riot against Bournemouth, scoring a hattrick and netting himself 20 points in FPL. Only 1.4% of players had him in their teams – were you one of them?

Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki was very impressive, too – a goal and an assist gave him a total of 13 points when all was said and done.

Again, we can’t point the finger at anyone in particular this week while searching for our biggest loser, but we handed this dubious honour to Enzo Fernandez thanks to his weekly total of one point.

Forwards

Ollie Watkins got his season back up and running as Aston Villa overcame Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The England international scored a brace against the Blues as he scored 12 points on FPL.

Elsewhere, Fulham’s Raul Jimenez scored nine points, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Joao Pedro each bagged eight for scoring against Sunderland and Aston Villa, respectively. These were the only three strikers to score higher than five points this week – is it time to invest in midfielders and defenders instead?

At the other end of the spectrum, Wilson Isidor’s barren spell at Sunderland continued in their game against Leeds United. Being largely relegated to the bench in favour of the in-form Brian Brobbey, it has now been some time since the Frenchman found the back of the net in the Premier League.
