Furthermore, earlier this season, the side sacked former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho with the manager having to be paid 15 million euros for this to occur.
As well as this, after the sacking, the team went onto hire Domenico Tedesco as their new manager.
Since joining the side, Tedesco has picked up an average of 2.3 points per game helping Fenerbahce to rise to second in the table and to pick up 21 points during his reign in the league so far.
Meanwhile, the side sit top of the division on shots on target per match with 6.8 shots whilst also winning 20 tackles per match.
However, with January on the horizon, the side may look to strenghten their squad and give themselves the best chance of success going into the second half of the season.
Now, Fenerbahce have been linked with a move for former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, according to Turkish source Takvim.
Furthermore, the source has revealed that the side have placed the signing of a decisive striker on their top priority list.
Takvim have also stated that Lukaku’s return date of the 1st of December from injury is pivotal to Fenerbahce, who are accelerating their transfer planning.
Furthermore, at Napoli last season, Romelu Lukaku scored 14 goals in Serie A as the Naples outfit won the Serie A title.
With this in mind, attention could turn to the Turkish side to see if they pursue in their interest of the striker.
If they do, Rasmus Hojlund could take a more primary role at Napoli for the remainder of the season.
