Fenerbahce make approach for Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford is returning to Manchester United after the World Cup ends, as his time at Barcelona is now over.

The attacker spent a season at Camp Nou on loan, hoping his move would be made permanent after helping the side defend their LaLiga title.

Despite having the opportunity to sign the United academy graduate for only £26 million, Barca instead opted to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for £70 million.

As such, plans are being drawn up for Rashford to be reintegrated into the United squad when he returns to Carrington next month.

However, his return may be short-lived as Fenerbahce are now making an approach for the England international.

Turkish outlet Fanatik has now reported that Fenerbahce’s “executive in charge of football” and sporting director, Cihan Kamer and Oguz Cetin, have travelled from Marseille to Manchester to discuss a deal.

The pair have recently been in Marseille finalising the deal for Rashford’s former teammate, Mason Greenwood, who was recently unveiled by the Turkish club.

Now, their sights are on Marcus Rashford, set to make an official approach for the 28-year-old over the coming days.

If the two clubs can come to an agreement, then the Turkish side will discuss the move with Rashford, however it’s not yet known what offer will be on the table for the attacker.

As one of Manchester United’s most expensive players when it comes to salary, earning £325,000 per week, few teams have the finances to match those terms.

It’s also expected that, should a loan deal be discussed, a mandatory buy clause would be included to avoid the situation of the last two summers, where Aston Villa and Barcelona had the option to buy him, but refused to trigger the clause.
