Reports in Italy claim that Fenerbahce have sent a contract proposal to Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, but the Turkish side do not currently have an agreement with either the player or club.
Lookman remains an Atalanta player after the close of the Serie A transfer window on Monday evening. That is despite his having submitted a formal transfer request midway through the summer after a €45m bid from league rivals Inter was turned down.
However, reports on Monday confirmed that two Turkish sides in Fenerbahce and Galatasaray remain interested in a potential deal for the Nigeria international.
Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are not impacted by the close of the Serie A transfer window, as the window in Turkey will remain open until September 12. That means they are still able to sign players, and clubs in other leagues are still able to sell to them, even if their own transfer window has closed.
Now, according to updates from Orazio Accomando, Fenerbahce have put forward a four-year contract offer worth around €6m per season in wages in an attempt to lure Lookman to Istanbul.
As things stand, they do not have an agreement in place with the player, nor his current employers, Atalanta.
