Fenerbahce sign Mason Greenwood

Manchester United have seen a number of former players rebuild their careers away from Old Trafford.

Several ex-Red Devils have gone on to become key figures for their new clubs, attracting fresh interest from across Europe with their performances.

Mason Greenwood is an example of that and he has been among the most talked-about names of the summer transfer window.

His future has now been decided after completing another high-profile move.

Mason Greenwood joins Fenerbahce

Mason Greenwood has joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce after completing a permanent transfer from Marseille, as reported by Sercan Hamzaoglu on X.

The Turkish club agreed a deal worth £33.8 million, with a further £4.3 million payable if Fenerbahce win the league during his time at the club.

Mason Greenwood Greenwood will also earn an annual salary of around £8.6 million following his move to Istanbul.

The 24-year-old had become one of the biggest names on the European transfer market after two prolific seasons in Ligue 1.

Having joined Marseille permanently in 2024 following his departure from Manchester United, Greenwood quickly established himself as one of France’s most productive attackers.

His resurgence had begun during a successful loan spell at Getafe, where he rebuilt his reputation before earning his move to Marseille.

Across two seasons in France, Greenwood registered an impressive 48 goals and 17 assists in 81 appearances, making him one of Ligue 1’s standout forwards.

Marseille also underwent major changes this summer after appointing Bruno Genesio as their new head coach to replace Habib Beye, with the managerial change potentially playing a part in Greenwood’s decision to seek a new challenge.

After reigniting his career in Spain and France, the former Manchester United academy graduate will now look to continue that form in Turkey as he begins the next chapter of his career with Fenerbahce.
