According to reports in Turkey, Jose Mourinho has asked Fenerbahce to sign Italy international Federico Chiesa from Liverpool this summer.

The former Roma and Inter coach has been pushing the club to bring in more options for the wide roles, to give him different tactical alternatives.

A Spor now claim that Mourinho has identified Chiesa as a primary transfer target for next season.

Chiesa has struggled at Liverpool

The 27-year-old just won a Premier League medal with Liverpool, despite barely setting foot on the pitch since his move from Juventus in August 2024.

He made just 12 competitive appearances, four of them in the Premier League for a total 33 minutes of football in that tournament.

Chiesa contributed two goals and two assists in the Liverpool jersey.

Nonetheless, the talent is still there behind the many injury problems, so Fenerbahce and Mourinho hope they can get the best out of the 27-year-old.

Liverpool paid €12m plus performance-related bonuses to purchase him from Juventus, so A Spor claim they are expecting circa €10m to sell him on this summer.
