It’s becoming increasingly clearer that Hansi Flick will be Barcelona’s next manager, with Xavi Hernandez expected to be sacked in the coming days. The former Bayern Munich and Germany head coach has been in discussions with sporting director Deco over the club’s transfer plans, and one of the agenda points has been Guido Rodriguez.

Barcelona have reached a pre-contract agreement with the Real Betis pivot in recent weeks, although the operation has been on hold due to the uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation. However, with Flick set to take over from Xavi, it can now proceed, especially as Sport have reported that the German coach has signed off on the Rodriguez deal being completed.

The same report has stated that Flick will sign a two-year deal, and a relatively low salary has been agreed due to the club’s ongoing financial woes. It remains to be seen how many more signings Barcelona make during the summer transfer window.
