Wesley Fofana has been speaking about what Chelsea are doing differently under Liam Rosenior after a positive start.

Chelsea are purring under new manager Liam Rosenior, and defender Wesley Fofana knows why. Speaking to the club’s official website in an interview contained in today’s match programme, the defender outlined what the team were doing differently to under Enzo Maresca:

“We are working well and the mentality is top because the manager comes with a new mentality – a little bit more aggressive when we’ve got the ball,” the defender said.

“The team understands that and we’re working well. We’re in a good way for the rest of the season. It’s a little bit more direct, the tempo is a little bit more high. Without the ball as well, we try to put a lot of intensity into it to recover the ball quickly.”

Chelsea’s intensity getting fans back onside

That increased intensity is not only effective for the players, it also helps to engage the fans, creating a virtuous circle of positivity. It’s a refreshing break after the slow and steady play we saw under Maresca that often bored supporters to death.

Facing Burnley at home today after a rare restful week, we’re keen to see what the team produce. It’s the perfect chance to show the supporters just what this new look side is all about and play some really good stuff.

In other news…

Joao Pedro has been in hot form lately, and will be fancied to score again today. His manager was hyping him up pre-game.

Our predicted team for today’s game against Burnley sees the Blues at close to full strength after a nice rest.
