In recent weeks, Paulo Fonseca’s name has become increasingly attached to the soon-to-be-vacant AC Milan head coach role, and a report has suggested that if he is appointed, he could look to bring some of his current players to San Siro.

Discussions are ongoing at Milanello regarding who will be the next head coach of the club. However, nothing is concrete, and there is not a clear front-runner. Instead, reports suggest that two candidates have moved clear of the competition.

One of those is Sergio Conceicao, whose stocks have progressively increased in favour, and now he finds himself in a position where there is a clear chance that he is the next Rossoneri head coach. Especially after reports suggesting he will leave Porto continue to increase.

Alternatively, there is Fonseca, who could guide Lille to Champions League football this weekend and has several teams chasing his signature.

This morning, Milan News suggested that Fonseca is the man leading the line for Milan, and he will make a decision this weekend after his season is over. The report suggests that if he does become the Rossoneri’s next manager, he will look to bring two talents with him.

Firstly, Tiago Santos, the Portuguese right-back could be the perfect heir to Davide Calabria, and at 23-years-old he has plenty of room for progression. Additionally, there is Jonathan David, who the Rossoneri have been consistently interested in, and Fonseca’s arrival could be the catalyst for him finally arriving.
