Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper was delighted with the spirit of his players after their 1-1 draw against Brentford.

Forest defender Moussa Niakhate was sent off before Christian Norgaard fired the Bees ahead. Nicolas Dominguez soon struck an equaliser for Forest.

Cooper said, "I thought we started the game the better in terms of the football we played and the positions we got in.

"What we didn't do is make the most of that, we didn't change the rhythm of our attack once we got into the good positions we obviously had athletic players out wide and I felt there was a real opportunity to threaten the box more than we did and that was the challenge.

"The game evened out probably from half hour on, I didn't like us one bit the way we started the second half. A couple of individual errors, lack of concentration and I think it rubbed off."

On the spirit shown by his players after going down to ten and behind, he added: "To get back in the game and not concede any more goals and show the spirit we did, the individual heart and soul the players were showing, it ends up being a much better point for us than Brentford."
