‘Form goes out the window’ – Ray Parlour predicts Manchester United vs Arsenal

Manchester United will host Arsenal in a huge Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The game means less to Manchester United because Arsenal are going for the league title.

On the other hand, the Reds are scrambling for points to qualify for Europe, and it may be the Europa Conference League rather than the Europa League, which is a bigger step backwards than anyone imagined from United this season.

It has been a difficult season but United can still lift the FA Cup at Wembley.

Arsenal need to win if they want to maintain title hopes going into the final day of the campaign. They are rely on Man City to drop points in their remaining games. An unlikely feat with Pep Guardiola’s side out of the Champions League.

There will still be bragging rights on offer for United this summer. The two clubs contested some epic title battles in the 1990s and 2000s. Perhaps history will repeat itself, one day.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour is aware that “form does go out the window in certain games” as he predicted the outcome of Sunday’s match.

It comes with little surprise that he is predicting an Arsenal win.

“Well, after the performance against Palace, they (Man United) have got to bounce back,” Parlour said on talkSPORT, as quoted by TBR Football.

“There is a big rivalry between both clubs, we know that, and form does go out of the window in certain games.

“The form that Arsenal are in at the moment, they know that they have got to win every single game.

“Man City can get the job done before they play, so they will probably put the pressure on to Arsenal again, but you have got to expect an Arsenal win the way they are playing.

“I did have 3-1 down for Arsenal, but I will change that to, let’s go 4-1 now, and, let’s go 2-1, let’s go 2-1, and I will go, I think Havertz will get one.”

The Gunners come to Old Trafford as favourites, which rarely happens. They are also trying to do the double over United.

Yet most United fans would take a defeat – but only if it meant that Arsenal would go on to win the title race rather than City.
