Lazio will once again be without Nuno Tavares for their upcoming Serie A fixture against Cagliari, but the Portuguese full-back is working to make his return in time for the trip to Inter Milan on November 7.

According to Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old continues to recover from a calf muscle problem.

Therefore he has been training separately from the rest of the squad.

Lazio Defender Tavares To Miss Cagliari But Return To Face Inter Milan

Recent medical tests confirmed positive progress, but not enough to include him in the squad for Monday night’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico.

Tavares has been out since picking up the injury several weeks ago but remains determined to return before the international break.

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is hopeful of having him back to full fitness for the trip to San Siro, where his pace and attacking energy down the left flank could prove vital against Cristian Chivu’s Inter side.

Lazio have been hit by several injuries this season but the return of Tavares is a most welcome addition to Sarri’s squad.
