Reports in Italy claim that Italy international Davide Frattesi will look to leave Inter during the summer transfer window if Simone Inzaghi remains in charge following a confrontation between the pair after the Champions League final in Munich on Saturday night.
Inter were on the end of a 5-0 hammering from Paris Saint-Germain in Saturday night’s Champions League final, the heaviest ever defeat in a European Cup final.
The Nerazzurri were left shellshocked at the Allianz Arena, but Frattesi, who was left among the substitutes for the entirety of the final, was left frustrated by his coach’s decision to leave him out.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Frattesi confronted Inzaghi over his decision to leave him on the bench for the entirety of the Champions League final.
The Italy international has largely served as an understudy since joining the Nerazzurri from Sassuolo in 2023, but has made valuable contributions since then, including crucial goals in the Champions League quarter-final and semi-final second legs against Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively.
The 25-year-old was left disappointed by his lack of involvement in the final on Saturday night, so much so that La Gazzetta dello Sport claims he will ‘100%’ leave the club if Inzaghi stays on as head coach.
Frattesi has been linked with a move to join Scudetto winners Napoli. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Nerazzurri value the player in the region of €40m.
