French pundit claims club 'made a significant error' in signing 'absolute disaster' Blades player

The French media have recently reacted to Iliman Ndiaye’s recent performances at Olympique Marseille. Ever since his transfer from Sheffield United for €17 million last summer, the striker has struggled to justify the hefty investment made in him. The Senegal international has received heavy criticism from L’Equipe.

Pundit Giovanni Castaldi did not hold back in his critique of the former Sheffield United player, unequivocally stating that Marseille made a significant error in signing him.

“The recruitment had potential, but nothing is confirmed. Correa is a ghost, Ndiaye’s best move was to do keepie-uppies in front of the Gare Saint-Charles, but on the pitch, he’s an absolute disaster.”

Since joining Marseille, Ndiaye has managed just one goal and three assists in 24 appearances, a notably low impact considering the high expectations surrounding him upon arrival.

Despite this underwhelming performance with the French club, the striker’s contract with the Ligue 1 side extends until 2028, affording him ample time to bounce back.

While Sheffield United may be facing a need for goals this season, many fans wonder where they’d be in the Premier League table if they would’ve kept Ndiaye, with the Blades bottom of the league.
