Lecce had the most difficult challenge, travelling to Szombathely to face the local Hungarian side and emerging with a 1-0 victory.

It was decided by the first goal of pre-season from 19-year-old Hjalte Laerke.

Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa were in action against Trento, and had initially gone behind when Molina turned in the rebound from a Mehic corner that came off the woodwork.

However, Lorenzo Colombo converted a penalty before David Puczka turned the game around for a 2-1 victory.

Venezia just earned promotion to Serie A and they beat local side Dolomiti Bellunesi 4-2 in today’s match.

Matteo Dagasso’s free kick, a Bartol Franjic header, captain Gianluca Busio strike from distance and a goal from new signing Albion Rrahmani secured it for the Lagunari.
