From Spain: Tottenham make enquiry to sign €25 million-rated Barcelona target

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Fiorentina defender Dodo at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old Brazilian has done quite well for the Italian club this season, and he is on the radar of La Liga club Barcelona as well. 

According to a report from AS, the 26-year-old defender will cost around €25 million, and Barcelona are in pole position to sign the player. However, Tottenham have made an enquiry for the defender, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for the South American. 

Tottenham already have players like Pedro Porro and Djed Spence at their disposal. It would be quite surprising if they decided to sign another right-back. The Brazilian is versatile enough to operate as a right-back as well as a wing-back. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Dodo will want to join a club where he will play regularly. Tottenham might not be able to provide him with that opportunity. They should look to add more depth to the left-back area instead. They need to bring in a quality central defender as well. Spurs have been linked with Kyle Walker-Peters as well.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can improve the squad adequately during the summer transfer window. It has been a disappointing season for them, and they find themselves 15th in the league table.
