Inter remained silent after a 2-2 home draw against Lazio on Sunday as the club were furious with refereeing decisions, so not even their coach Simone Inzaghi spoke to the media.

Inter coach Inzaghi didn’t comment on Sunday’s 2-2 home draw against Lazio as the club refused to send any of its members in front of the media after the game.

Neither Inzaghi, his players, nor the directors showed up to talk to reporters, including right-holders Sky Sport and DAZN or at a post-match press conference.

The Nerazzurri were furious with refereeing decisions that led to the latest 2-2 draw against Lazio and other incidents in previous matches.

Inter wasted a golden chance to go top of the table as their rivals Napoli were held to a 0-0 away draw at Parma.

A win would have allowed Inter to overtake Napoli and lead them by one point with just 90 minutes remaining in the 2024-25 campaign.

Both Inzaghi and Napoli coach Antonio Conte were sent off last night and will be suspended for the last game of the season.

Inter and Napoli will play on Friday night. The Nerazzurri will visit Como, and Napoli will host Cagliari at the Stadio Maradona.

Inter vs Napoli reactions – what Baroni said

Lazio coach Baroni spoke to DAZN after last night’s 2-2 draw away at Inter, explaining the incident that sent him and Simone Inzaghi off: “He’s an incredible coach and does something extraordinary. I saw the entire bench stand up, and I said they couldn’t do that. However, I don’t think either of us deserved to be sent off—we even watched the rest of the match together.”

16 goals in 8 games: Erling Haaland’s stunning record could make Norway dark horses for the World Cup

Erling Haaland is having an exceptional season even by his usual high standards, and after firing Norway to their first World Cup in 28 years, could he actually make them surprise contenders to win it? That would be some upset for sure, but do we need to take Haaland and co. seriously? After all, they have perhaps the best player in the world right now, with the Manchester City striker netting a staggering 16 goals in eight World Cup qualifying games. We’re used to seeing numbers like that from Haaland at club level, but he can clearly also do it without the help of Pep Guardiola and world class teammates like the ones alongside him at the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland is unstoppable, but Norway aren’t just a one-man team either Still, it would also be harsh on the rest of the Norway team to say they’re all about Haaland, as good as the Norwegian goal machine has been. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is another big name in this team, and if he stays fit and reaches his best form, he’ll be crucial to getting the best out of Haaland by supplying him with the kind of service he thrives on. Other noteworthy players include Sander Berge, Oscar Bobb, Alexander Sorloth, Antonio Nusa, and, perhaps by next summer, City wonderkid Sverre Nypan as well. Together, this Norway side has gone through a superb World Cup qualifying campaign, winning eight games out of eight, scoring 37 goals and conceding just five. On Sunday, they thrashed the mighty Italy 4-1 away from home to show just how serious they are. Can Norway upset the favourites at the 2026 World Cup? Norway clearly won’t be one of the big favourites to win the World Cup as there are so many other great teams involved, and it’s not often you see genuinely huge upsets at major tournaments. Spain and France stand out as having the best squads, while England are also starting to look like a really serious team under Thomas Tuchel, and of course you can never rule out other giants such as Brazil, Germany or reigning champions Argentina. But surprises do happen – think Greece winning Euro 2004, or more recently when Croatia reached the 2018 World Cup final. This Norway team looks just as good, if not better, than those sides, and have a truly special goal-scorer in Haaland who is probably a level above pretty much every other footballer on the planet at the moment. Just how impressive are Haaland’s numbers? We’re used to it by now, but Haaland’s scoring stats really are extraordinary. The 25-year-old has 55 goals in 48 caps for his country, making him just the sixth footballer ever to score 50 in fewer than 50 caps. To put that into some context, former Germany striker Miroslav Klose is currently the all-time leading scorer at the World Cup with 16 goals (see table below for the top seven), which came as part of a total of 71 in 137 appearances for the German national team. If Haaland gets to play as many World Cups as Klose did, and continues to score at his current rate, he could absolutely smash that record. Others like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe will also have that record in their sights and will surely get there first, but it’s going to be very interesting watching Haaland on this stage next summer.

In LeBron James' historic season debut, Lakers storm past Jazz

Luka Doncic scored 37 points with 10 assists and LeBron James added 11 points in 30 minutes of his season debut as the Los Angeles Lakers rallied for a 140-125 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Austin Reaves scored 26 points, Deandre Ayton added 20 points with 14 rebounds. Jake LaRavia had 16 points as Los Angeles won its third consecutive game. However, the game was historic for James and the NBA After missing the first 14 games of the season because of sciatica on his right side, James took the court to become the first player in NBA history to play in 23 consecutive seasons. Keyonte George scored 33 points and Lauri Markkanen added 31 for the Jazz, who lost for the fifth time in their past seven games. Svi Mykhailiuk and Ace Bailey each scored 13 points and Jusuf Nurkic added 10 points with 10 rebounds in Utah's only road contest in a stretch of seven games. The Lakers didn't take their first lead until going up 89-88 on a Doncic layup with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter. The basket was part of an 8-0 run that gave Los Angeles a 91-88 advantage. The Lakers dominated from there. They led 104-93 through three quarters after trailing by as many as seven points earlier in the period. Doncic scored 17 points in the third quarter alone when Los Angeles had a 37-22 scoring advantage. It was more of the same in the fourth quarter as the Lakers had a 36-32 advantage and finished with a season high in points. The Jazz led the entire first half, taking an 11-2 lead 3:19 into the game and going up 16-6 five minutes into the opening quarter. James had a turnover in the opening minute and missed his only shot of the first quarter as Utah took a 36-27 lead. James' first basket of the season came on a 3-pointer with 8:20 remaining in the first half. He scored seven points in the second quarter, while going 2 of 2 from 3-point range in the period. The Jazz led 71-67 at halftime by shooting 55.3% from the floor as George had 23 points and Markkanen added 22.

Steve Kerr 'very concerned' about worrisome trend plaguing NBA

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is sounding the alarm on a troubling trend affecting the league that could potentially worsen down the line. The NBA has faced some huge crises over the past few months. The Kawhi Leonard-Aspiration issue in the offseason raised concerns about the Los Angeles Clippers potentially circumventing the salary cap. The arrests of Chauncey Billups and Terry Rozier highlighted the growing threat of sports gambling on the integrity of the game. Steve Kerr highlights an under-the-radar concern While those fiascos have understandably grabbed headlines, Kerr recently expressed unease about a different issue that’s flying under the radar. The Warriors coach admitted to ESPN’s Anthony Slater that he is “very concerned” that the heightened pace of play in the modern game over an 82-game schedule may finally be taking its toll on the Association, with a growing number of soft tissue injuries impacting players of late. Eight different players have suffered soft tissue injuries over the past couple of weeks, headlined by stars like Anthony Davis, Victor Wembanyama and, most recently, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Kerr stated that the Warriors’ medical staff believes “wear and tear, the speed, the pace, the mileage” are increasing the risk of today’s players suffering such injuries. “Across the league, everyone understands that it’s easier to score if you beat the opponent down the floor, get out in transition,” Kerr said. “But when everybody’s doing that, the games are much higher-paced. Everyone has to cover out to 25 feet because everybody can shoot 3s. We have all the data. Players are running faster and further [than] before. We’re trying to do the best we can, but we basically have a game every other night. It’s not an easy thing to do.” Kerr, who has been an advocate for shortening the regular season, also lamented the struggles teams face with the league schedule, which makes it difficult for teams to get adequate recovery and practice time. With the Steph Curry-era Warriors being a huge part of the NBA’s pace and space movement, Kerr knows just how physically demanding the modern game has become. But with the financial implications that come with potentially shortening the season, Kerr understands that such a drastic change to the NBA schedule is “not happening” anytime soon.

Mets, Brandon Nimmo Trade Development Emerges on Tuesday

The New York Mets are entering the offseason looking to retool the roster with hopes of returning to the MLB playoffs in 2026. The Mets collapsed during the second half of the year, finishing with an 83–79 record. Despite the disappointing end to the year, outfielder Brandon Nimmo remained a bright spot in the lineup. The 32-year-old veteran posted a .262 batting average, .324 on-base percentage, .760 OPS, 25 home runs and 92 RBIs across 155 games. Nimmo has continued to be a reliable player for New York and just finished playing in his tenth season for the organization. The Mets are the only franchise Nimmo has ever known in his professional career since they selected him in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft. However, that could change following a report on Tuesday from ESPN’s Jeff Passan. “The Mets are blowing up plenty. It's not just Luisangel Acuña or Mark Vientos or Brett Baty — center fielder Brandon Nimmo (who has full no-trade protection) and utilityman Jeff McNeil can also be had,” Passan wrote. Nimmo’s name surfacing as a trade possibility is a genuine surprise given everything he has meant to the organization. At the very least, the Mets are now faced with a decision on whether to explore moving him. As noted, Nimmo has a full no-trade clause, which gives him the final say on any potential deal. He still has five years remaining on the eight-year, $162 million contract he signed with New York in 2023. While the Mets would likely prefer to keep Nimmo’s bat and leadership in the lineup, trading him could help replenish the farm system or address other areas of need, particularly pitching, which was a major weakness in 2025. A deal would also free up significant payroll space, potentially allowing the team to pursue other upgrades, including a possible reunion with first baseman Pete Alonso. The decision to trade Nimmo is not an easy one, but it is certainly intriguing. He will be entering his age-33 season, and offensive players often begin to decline around that point. Whatever the Mets decide, this offseason is shaping up to be a pivotal one for the future of the franchise.
