Reports on Tuesday evening suggest that Galatasaray have now decided to pay Napoli Victor Osimhen’s release clause in full after seeing a series of opening bids turned down for the sought-after Nigeria international.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Galatasaray have agreed to pay the full €75m release clause in Osimhen’s contract, which is valid for teams outside of Italy until July 15.

The 25-year-old spent the 2024-25 season on loan in Istanbul after seeing a permanent move away from Napoli fall through in spectacular fashion on deadline day of the summer 2024 transfer window.

Galatasaray agree to pay €75m for Osimhen

While in Turkey, Osimhen netted 37 goals and eight assists from 41 appearances across all competitions.

In an attempt to bring Osimhen back on a permanent basis, Galatasaray submitted a bid worth around €60m at the beginning of the week, which was not accepted by Napoli, who have been holding out for the full €75m release clause fee.

However, according to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday evening, Galatasaray have now decided to proceed with their pursuit of Osimhen by paying the €75m release clause.

Di Marzio adds that there is an agreement in place over a four-year contract worth €16m net in wages per season.
